Summer Fun!

Nolan's first visit to the zoo was a ton of fun! He seemed to like the elephants and zebras! He did a great job and hung in there for a couple hours before we left.








Nolan just turned 9 months old on July 19th! He is now saying "Ma ma, da da, ga ga, and ba ba." He also FINALLY has his 2 bottom front teeth. Thank God! We had some almost sleepless nights before they finally came in. On Nolan's 9 month birthday he got to spend some time with his friend, Kate Briscoe! This was the first time Kate and Nolan got to meet each other, and they had a great time (their mommies had fun too!).

Summer is finally here....

We're thankful that Emily has some time off from teaching now, and we're enjoying the hot weather! We've been taking lots of walks and meeting up with friends. Nolan recently had an 8 month check up. He weighs 19 lbs 8 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long. He's growing so fast. His favorite foods lately are sweet potatoes, green beans, and any fruit you give to him! He isn't crawling yet, but he sits up on his own and rolls around if he's trying to get a toy. Still no teeth......we keep thinking that any day now we'll see them!

We went on a picnic for our 4 year anniversary (cheesey....I know....but fun!). The weather was great and Nolan loves being outside. He was really liking the apple....









For Father's Day weekend we went to Ohio to see Grandma and Grandpa Stephany, Aunt Cheryl, Cousin Sophia, Aunt Jenni, and Uncle Kevin. We had a nice, relaxing visit. Nolan and Sophia got to play a lot ! They went swimming for the first time!

7 Months Old!!

Nolan is 7 months old now! We can't believe how fast it is going. We're having a lot of fun with him, and he is starting to develop more of a personality. He smiles and laughs a lot! He still doesn't have any teeth and since he hates to be on his belly, we wonder if he'll ever crawl. He will occaisionally roll from his back to his belly, but only if we're enticing him with a toy!

Also, Nolan has been spending a lot of time at Grammy Smart's house while Mom and Dad are at work (only six more days of work for Emily!) . He loves playing in his bouncey chair! They keep busy by going on a lot of walks and by sitting in all of his different chairs


Over Memorial Day weekend, Nolan took his first plane ride to North Carolina to visit Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Brian! We were more nervous about the trip than he was. As soon as we took off he went right to sleep, and we were so thankful! On both flights there were extra seats, so he got to sit right next to us in his car seat!


When we were in North Carolina we went to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University. The flowers were beautiful and the weather was great! We had a great time hanging out with Aunt Elizabeth, Uncle Brian and Max (their dog!). Nolan loved Max and Max loved trying to get all of Nolan's toys! We loved spending time with them. :)
