Nolan is smiling a lot more lately! He is starting to hold his head up more and on Christmas Day he rolled over from his tummy to his back! Check out the pictures below...we caught the moment!

Nolan's First Christmas
Nolan had a wonderful first Christmas! He spent Christmas at Grammy and Poppy Smart's house. He had a great time hanging out with Aunt Lizzie, Uncle Brian, Grammy and Poppy. He had many visitors come see him. Great Grandpa Smart, Great Grandma Fogle, Great Aunt Ruth, Jenni, Bethie, Krystal, Loren, Raina, Mike, and Aunt Ange came to visit over the break! He also got to see the Anglin Family when they came over on Christmas Eve. Nolan gave Mommy and Daddy the best gift ever....he slept 7 straight hours on Christmas Eve! Nolan got a lot of nice presents from everyone. He got a book, a wipe warmer, Veggie Tale DVDs, some new outfits, ornaments, and his first Elmo stuffed toy. Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Brian got us an amazing camcorder to use to record all of the special moments we will have.

Thanksgiving in Cincy
Nolan's first trip to Cincinnati went well. He definitely enjoyed meeting Aunt Jenni and Aunt Cheryl for the first time. He also received a ton of gifts from generous family friends. Dad's favorite is the Bengals outfit (thanks Pete and Shannon). I think he is going to have a hard time picking a team to root for with all the pressure from both sides (Bengals/Steelers). He is definitely looking forward to his first Christmas. See you all in BF real soon!

First trip away
Spent my first days away from Nolan and Emily this past weekend as I attended the National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference at Anderson University in Indiana. Emily sent me some great picture text messages (shown below) so that made it a little easier. As you can see he is starting to smile. I know, it is just gas but it is still awesome to see.

Two weeks...and counting
Lot's happening since the last post. We had Halloween which was lots of fun. Although he looked really cute, not sure if Nolan liked being dressed up as a pumpkin. Maybe next year he can be something cool like Batman, Spiderman or Carson Palmer :)

Nolan at 1 week
Nolan is now only hours from being one week old and he is doing very well. Both pediatrician appointments have been positive. While we have been nervous and scared about every little thing, the doc tells us that we have a perfectly healthy child on our hands. What a blessing!
While Nolan still has his days and nights mixed up, we are starting to get adjusted to things and recover from total sleep deprivation. We are definitely tired, just not as tired :) Grandma Smart has been a big help this week by staying with us and getting odds and ends done around the house. Both Grandpa and Grandma Smart are going to stay over tonight as well.
Here is another video of the little guy in action. Enjoy!

Day 5
So we are five days into this thing and it seems to be going well. Took Nolan to the pediatrician yesterday and he said that the little guy looked great. He is a little jaundice but we have already seen an improvement in the past 24 hours.

So we don't post much, and in between now and the August 1 post we had a small shower. Here are a few pics.
